SHINee’s leader Onew will join the list of idols-turned-musical-stars with his lead role of Joo-Bong in Brothers Were Brave from April 1st to June 20th in Coex Theaters.The musical, which was first opened in 2008, was critically acclaimed. It was based on two brothers that never got along, who went back to their hometown to find a hefty fortune in their father’s will. The two grow closer during their adventure. The younger sibling, which will be played by Onew, feels like he got the short end of the stick. He has a bit of a temper, but is a highly educated man, having graduated from Seoul University, known to be Korea’s best university. During their adventure, the two set their differences aside and eventually develop a strong brotherly relationship with one another.
In his first musical, Onew will also be partaking in a kiss scene, surprising many people, but building even more anticipation.
The production staff said, “Onew is doing a musical for the first time. Jessica of SNSD was very successful with Legally Blonde even though it was her first time as well. These days, the idols are very good in the fields of singing and dancing. Not only that, they try very hard at everything they do so I think he will do great.”
SM Entertainment, Onew’s company, said, “After he got cast for this musical, he started practicing his singing, dancing and acting. He is working hard to bring a nice performance on stage.”

After exposing CNBLUE’s manager giving a beating to a fan girl, more cases of violent managers have been popping up all over the internet.
The latest is a clip of SHINee’s manager shoving and pushing a girl by her head. Which makes people wonder if that was really necessary, as she seems to be a harmless little girl.
SM Entertainment responded, “It seems this SHINee video is from their schedule during August of last year. We apologize to fans for this sort of unbelievable behavior. We will do everything in our power to prevent such incidents, and of course at the company level all managers will comply. Again, we are deeply sorry.”
Although a stars’ well being is important, think about the innocent fan girl getting pummeled for no apparent reason. How would you feel if that was your child?

Lots of celebrity graduations today! Following in the footsteps of fellow bandmate Minho, SHINee’s Key graduated from high school today as well.
Balancing both a celebrity and academic career successfully, Key was awarded with a special “Achievement” award.
Key stated, “Congratulating my graduation and showing interest for me makes me very happy. I want to thank everyone for supporting me throughout my school years and for helping me graduate. As an adult, I will have to be even more responsible and I will work very hard as a SHINee member.”
Congrats to yet another SHINee member.

Key participated in the Daegu Youngshin High school graduation that started at 10 AM.
He got his diploma as well as an award of merit for bringing publicity to the high school through his activities.

Minho, who has already been admitted into Konkuk University, will begin his college education in March and major in film through the school’s fine arts program. Congratulations!

[08.02.2010] SHINee visits a Japanese orphanage
[06.02.2010] SHINee visits a Japanese orphanage
On February 6th, boy group SHINee performed at the K-POP Festival in Sapporo, Japan. The next day, the angelic boys decided to visit an orphanage in the city and put smiles on the little kids’ faces.
They gifted the children with shirts that had Korean on it, Korean snacks and Korean stuffed animals. I guess the purpose was to introduce Korean culture to the boys and girls.
SHINee and the 60 children split up into teams and played games. The children even performed for SHINee. With Sapporo TV recording every minute of this event, the boys received much kudos from the Japanese fans.
SHINee said, “It was for a short period of time but we made a lot of memories in Sapporo. Meeting these children made this trip more meaningful. If we get the chance to, we want to visit Sapporo again.”
SHINee is wrapping up an Asia promotion by hitting Hong Kong on the 12th, Cambodia on the 21st and Fukuoka on the 27th.
im so proud of SHINee
they are not only talented
and are also born with gd and warm hearts
they bring warmth and happiness to these poor kids
letting them smile whole heartedly
their visits really means a lot to these kids
though they may not be fans of them
but someone visiting them
bringing them gifts
indicates that thr's still ppl who care for them
having to lose their parents is alr the worst thing
if no one ever wnt to care for them
thn one can only see them with droopy faces
no happiness can be found
shouldnt kids be active, playing ard
so SHINee's visit is really in time.
that's the reason why i love them that much
